1. Who We Are & What This Policy Covers
The Christmas Kings LLC (“The Christmas Kings,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a veteran-owned, owner-operated holiday and permanent lighting company based in Bolingbrook, Illinois, serving Bolingbrook and surrounding communities. We take pride in craftsmanship and in the trust our customers place in us — and that trust includes how we handle your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when (and when not) we share it, and the choices you have. It applies to information we collect through our website at www.ChristmasKings.Pro, by phone or text, by email, through estimate and booking requests, and in the course of providing our lighting services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information we need to provide our services, communicate with you, and run our business. This may include:
- Contact and identifying information: your name, service and billing address, phone number, and email address.
- Property and project information: details about your home or building, the scope of work you request, scheduling preferences, and notes about your installation.
- Photos and video of completed work: photographs and video of your property and of the lighting work we complete (see Section 4 for how these may be used).
- Payment information: deposit and payment details. Card payments are handled by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems.
- Communications: the content of your messages, estimate requests, form submissions, reviews, and our notes from conversations with you.
- Website usage information: when you visit www.ChristmasKings.Pro, we (and our website/hosting providers) may collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar analytics information through cookies or comparable technologies. See Section 11.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- prepare estimates; schedule and perform installation, takedown, and storage; and handle service and warranty requests.
- process deposits and payments and maintain business records.
- contact you about your appointments, quotes, scheduling, weather-related timing, and follow-up.
- market our own new products, seasonal offerings, and services to our current and past customers (for example, letting you know about permanent lighting options or upcoming holiday scheduling). You can opt out of marketing at any time — see Section 9.
- use photos and video of completed work in our promotional materials, as described in Section 4.
- comply with the law, enforce our agreements, prevent fraud, and protect the rights, property, and safety of our customers, our company, and the public.
4. Photos & Video of Completed Work
We are proud of the work we do, and great photos help neighbors in our community see what’s possible for their own homes and businesses.
By having us perform an installation, you agree that we may photograph and record video of the completed lighting and the exterior of the property, and that we may use those images and videos in our marketing and promotional materials — including our website, social media (such as Facebook and Instagram), online and print advertisements, flyers, and similar materials.
We protect your privacy in how we use these images. Our promotional photos focus on the lighting and the exterior of the property. We do not publish your name, street address, phone number, or other personal contact information alongside these images without your permission.
You can opt out. If you prefer that we not photograph your property or not use images of your installation in our marketing, just let us know — before, during, or after the work — by contacting us using the information in Section 14, and we will honor your request. If you ask us to stop using an image going forward, we will remove it from materials we control, though copies already printed or already shared publicly may not be fully recoverable.
5. We Do Not Sell Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We are a local, owner-operated business — not a data broker — and your information is used to serve you and run our company, not to be sold for profit.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not share your personal information with outside parties without your express written permission, except in the limited circumstances described below:
- Service providers who work on our behalf: we use trusted outside companies to help us operate — such as our payment processor, scheduling or customer-management software, email or text-messaging providers, and our website host. These providers may handle your information only as needed to perform services for us, and we expect them to keep it confidential and not use it for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements and law enforcement: we may disclose information when required to do so by law, or in response to a valid legal request from law enforcement, a court, or another government authority. We may also disclose information when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with the law, protect our rights or property, or protect the safety of any person.
- Business transfers: if our business is ever sold, merged, or transferred, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the commitments in this policy.
Apart from these situations, we will not share your personal information with a third party unless you have given us your express written permission to do so.
7. Text Messaging (SMS)
If you provide your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may text you about your estimates, scheduling, service updates, and — if you have opted in — promotions and offers. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency may vary.
You can opt out of marketing texts at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, or by contacting us directly. You may still receive non-marketing texts needed to complete a job you have scheduled (such as appointment confirmations).
8. Email Marketing
If we send you marketing emails, every message will include an option to unsubscribe. You may also opt out at any time by contacting us using the information in Section 14. As with texts, you may still receive non-marketing emails related to a job you have scheduled with us.
9. Your Choices & Rights
You are in control of your information. You may:
- opt out of our marketing emails (via the unsubscribe link) and marketing texts (by replying STOP).
- ask us to update or correct your contact information.
- ask us to stop photographing your property or to stop using images of your installation in our marketing (see Section 4).
- request that we delete personal information we are not required to keep for business, tax, warranty, or legal reasons.
To make any of these requests, contact us using the information in Section 14. We will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
10. How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, and we limit access to those who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever experience a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by Illinois law.
11. Data Retention, Cookies & Website Analytics
We keep your personal information only as long as needed to provide our services, maintain our business and tax records, honor warranties, resolve disputes, and comply with the law, after which we dispose of it securely.
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to help the site function and to understand how visitors use it. Most web browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect how parts of the site work.
12. Children’s Privacy
Our services and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Third-Party Links, Changes & Governing Law
Third-party links. Our website or social media may link to other websites we do not control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Changes to this policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and post the current version on our website. Your continued use of our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Governing law. This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
